EVENT: STREET COURSE TRYOUT

CAR FREE SUNDAY AT BIOPOLIS

Car Free Sunday is now into its third year. It is an initiative started by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) in Singapore and has given the local hommies an opportunity to enjoy car-free zones and streets for people, not cars. The vibe is one of chill leisurely Sunday fun. And cyclists from all riding disciplines has been regular participants to these events. Come 29 April 2018, 1OAK Event Services and The Cycling Chap would be upping the ante with a Street Tryout installment at this platform. Read on for the details!

SUNDAY STREET RIDE @ ONE-NORTH

The aim was simple: go car-lite to benefit the community and the city, and it would ripple towards a more livable and sustainable environment. With the opportunity to have car-free zones, it would mean the streets would take on a different kind of vibrancy from the other working days (when it's dominated by cars). For us, it's time to ride the streets like we owned it!

Now in its third year, Car-Free Sunday SG had been scheduled on the last Sunday of the month, at Civic District, Central Business District and Telok Ayer. Joggers, cyclists, personal mobility device users, families and heritage enthusiasts are the regulars at these events.

The new season of Car-Free Sunday started with a change from the usual venue – this time at One North. Its first instalment features some added adrenaline with the Street Tryout. Initially planned as a race, it is now revised to a try-out and hangout session where participants can have some fun at the tracks prepared by 1OAK Event Services and The Cycling Chap.

In addition, JTC will be holding a free guided One-North Discovery Walk on 29 April 2018, where you can discover all the Instagram-able spots for your feed. Take this tour with them to discover places you may not know about at One-North. Say, do you know there's a Butterfly Garden there? Or how about 12 Gentlemen and the interactive playground?

Jointly organised by URA and JTC, Car-Free Sunday SG @ one-north will have an exciting line-up of activities for everyone throughout the 200 ha estate. This will also be the first time that cyclists, joggers and families can enjoy the event outside of the Civic District.
