PRODUCT: SDG DUSTER P RL SADDLE
ALL- TERRAIN PERFORMANCE SADDLES
The bike's cockpit is the point of contact between us and our bike. How much in control and how comfortable our rides are depends on the handlebar/grips/stem combination, the pedals as well as the saddle. A comfortable and well-placed saddle could do wonders to our endurance, ride control and performance. We check out the Duster P RL from SDG Components.
SDG Components is a USA based saddle specialist company well known for their application of a wide range of know-hows and technology for building saddles. The brand sponsors a long list of teams and athletes, and it is from these athletes' feedback on the products that they gather much of their research & development information for their saddles' design and production.
Currently, they sponsor notable teams like YT-Mob, Devinci Global Racing, MS Mondraker, Cube Global Squad, Bergamont Hayes, Factory GT BMX Team amongst others. And big names like Aaron Gwin, Cam Zink, Kyle Strait, Steffi Marth, Aaron Chase, Anton Thelander, Conor McFarlene, Danny Hart, Anthony Messere, Greg William graced their professional butts on these saddles!
We like to think that these saddles are race-proven.
SADDLE TECHNOLOGY SUMMARIZED
Founded at SDG Components website, is a consolidated chart of all the current saddle technology – made simple with vital pointers and easy-to-understand diagrams. All the current SDG Components saddles apply a combination of these technologies.
DUSTER P RL – TI ALLOY
As the name implies, the Duster P RL – Ti Alloy features (right …) Titanium Alloy rails and a Peri Canal from tip to tail of the saddle. With the titanium rail, the bike get to shave off another 20 grams as opposed to using the one with the chromoly rails which weighs 255 grams. The Peri Canal allows for a continuous relief channel on the saddle which improves comfort for the rider. Mid-Density Eva Foam wrapped in a one-piece seamless microfiber cover provides comfortable and stable support for the rider throughout the ride.
The saddle's Flat-Forward Platform design also improves mobility and reduces pelvis rotation. This is coupled by the D2 Edge Flex base – a design that allows for the side to flex with each pedal stroke while the center remains stiff for a consistent support.
The saddle measure 285 mm (length) by 137 mm (width) and is designed for road, XC, Endurance, cross-country or the typical weight conscious.
