TRAIL OFFICIALLY OPENS!

We heard about it, and had been given sneak peek into the trail. And today, Chestnut South Trail opens its "doors" to the public (on 2nd April 2016) – to the mountain bikers and hikers that has been eagerly awaiting the opening of more trails for their off-road activities. It was indeed a happy occasion and Nparks spiced things up with a simple official opening ceremony in the morning.

AND HERE WE GO!

The opening ceremony was graced by about 100 mountain bikers and 100 hikers taking their first "official" entries into the trail. And the Chestnut Trail car park and centre was transformed into a mini function hall for the morning. After a brief opening session, the VIPs were led to the trail for a walk-through, and then it's the guests' turn.

Naturally, the place was more crowded than usual weekends. And Nparks officers also took on traffic safety duties, just to make sure everything ran smoothly.

And over at the trail head, the guests took their turns to enter the trail. And as planned, the trail wasn't congested as users spaced themselves out during their rides. And with this good arrangement, everybody was able to enjoy the trail the way it should be.

SAFETY AND DIRECTIONS

Chestnut Trail took the planning group some time to get all the details and features dialed in well. And it seemed like their effort paid off well. The trail has 2 separate loops running parallel with each other. One for mountain bikers and another for hikers. As we rode, we did not notice any intersection of routes. (That's provided neither mountain bikers nor hikers stray from their designated paths. But then again, that's a concern for another day.)

And to indicate the various entrances as well as directions to move, there are clear signages at strategic points for users.

Back at the Trail Centre, there are also information to remind users to observe basic trail etiquettes. We think these are good and essential information for everyone. Do read them when you visit the centre.

WITH GOOD RESULTS!

It was indeed a good start to an awesome trail! Want to know the effect of a good trail? Check out these happy faces!

Chestnut Trail is suitable for all levels of mountian bikers. Ride it fast and flowy, or ride it relaxed and safe. You decide. See you at the trail!

Special thanks to Nparks for the invitation to the official opening of Chestnut South Trail.
