STAGE 6 TOUR DE KOREA and STAGE 7 TOUR DE SINGKARAK

The OCBC Singapore Pro Cycling Team’s incredible run of form has kept them in first place ahead of their elite rivals in the Team General Classification (GC) of the Tour of Korea for the fourth consecutive day.

OCBC Singapore Pro Cycling Team rider Cameron Bayly led the team in Stage 6 of  the race, crossing the finishing line in a time of 4:26:22, 4:30 behind stage winner Kyunggu Jang of the Korail Cycling Team. Bayly finished in 21st place.

Thomas Rabou (37th) and Eric Sheppard (41st) completed the 177.2-kilometres stage from Yeong Ju to Peyongchang with a timing the same timing of 4:26:45.

The remaining OCBC Singapor Pro Cycling Team riders Jang Chan Jae (60th), Ronald Yeung (87th) and Low Ji Wen (93rd) crossed the finishing line with a timing of 4:34:39, 4:35:06, and 4:37:20, respectively.

Further down south in Indonesia, Goh Choon Huat, OCBC's last man standing in the Tour de Singkarak, finished Stage 7 of that race with a timing of 4:00:22, 20-seconds behind stage winner Brenton Jones from the Avanti Racing Team. Goh came in 21st place.

The 23-year-old currently sits in 14th place in the individual GC for riders from ASEAN nations.

STAGE 7 TOUR DE KOREA and STAGE 8 TOUR DE SINGKARAK

The OCBC Pro Cycling Team continued their outstanding run of form in Stage 7 of the Tour de Korea, with Cameron Bayly breaking into the top-20 on the stage.

Bayly completed the 158.3-kilometre stage, which started and ended at Pyeongchang, with a timing of 3:57:12, 1:24 behind stage winner Hugh Carthy of the Rapha Condor JLT team from Great Britain. Bayly came in in 16th place.

The remaining OCBC riders – Thomas Rabou (31st), Eric Sheppard (32nd), Ronald Yeung (37th), Jang Chan Jae (60th), and Low Ji Wen (93rd) – crossed the finishing line with a timing of 3:58:37, 3:59:05, 4:00:01, 4:06:08, and 4:09:05,  respectively.

Meanwhile in Indonesia, OCBC’s sole survivor in the Tour de Singarak – Goh Choon Huat – finished Stage 8 of the race with a timing of 4:45:10, 20:19 behind stage winner Soudiane Haddi from the Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling Team . Goh ended the day in 52nd place for the stage.

The 23-year-old currently sits in 16th in the individual GC for riders from ASEAN nations.

FINAL STAGE TOUR DE KOREA

The OCBC Singapore Pro Cycling Team has successfully concluded Tour de Korea on Sunday with their string of superlative performances, implying that they are on par with their rivals from top international teams from around the world.

In the final stage of the tour, Singaporean Low Ji Wen lead the team across the 82-kilometre course which began and ended at Yangyang, crossing finishing line with a timing of 1:47:33, coming in 15th place. Sungbaek Park from the KSPO team from Korea captured the stage and was also credited with the same timing as Low.

The other four riders who represented the OCBC Singapore Pro Cycling Team – Ronald Yeung (21st), Thomas Rabou (50th), Cameron Bayly (57th), Eric Sheppard (58th) and Jang Chan Jae (73rd), finished within the leading pack and were all credited with the same timing as Low.

The OCBC Singapore Pro Cycling Team will take a short break to recuperate and will return on 12 August as they take on Jelajah Malaysia.
