NEWS: THE POLYGON SQUARE ONE DEMO WEEKEND

GETTING A FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE WITH THE ALL NEW DO-IT-ALL ENDURO BEAST

Over the weekend of 17 & 18 June 2017, Polygon distributor/retailer Rodalink conducted an exclusive demo weekend for their latest sensational beast machine – the Polygon Square One, at the Bukit Timah MTB Trail.

FIRST APPEARANCE

While demo days are not new to Rodalink, this event is probably their first exclusive and very detailed demo session for a bike launch in which participants had to wait for a slot to be confirmed via email before they can join in. Besides knowing the date and the bike featured, there were little other information on the promotional post on social media. That shows quite a bit about this demo weekend. It's specially catered to riders that would know how to appreciate (and buy) the Polygon Square One.

Understandably so, as the time that they have for this demo weekend was limited. The bikes would be making their rounds across the region in demo events. So we only get to see this bike for the weekend until the selling stocks arrive.

Amongst the Rodalink staff who were present was Fadzee, the coach from the recent Polygon Ride Clinic. Fadzlee and Polygon's Business Development Manager Marcus Leong was there to give a full rundown on everything we wished to know about this shining new thing.

Spanned over 2 days for 2 different group of participants, the demo weekend aimed to achieve 2 main objectives; (1) To reach out to the target customers of this bike and (2) To allow for a more detailed ride for every participants so as to truly experience the strength of the Square One, along with some understanding of the design philosophy and technology behind it.

DEMO TIME!

The event started with an introduction of the bike by Rodalink staff (from Singapore and Malaysia), and then it's riding time! The ride started with a first loop around a section of Bukit Timah MTB Trail with the participants' own bikes. And only when the participants got a fresh recap of their own bikes riding feel did they hop on the Square One for a second lap around the same loop.

This straight up, memory-fresh shootout between the participants' own bike and the Square One is one of the most effective and honest way to showcase a new bike. If the new bike is better, the participants would be able to feel it, with no doubts. And as far as we can remember, all participants completed the demo loop impressed. No surprised to us on this part as we too came out pleasantly impressed.

FIRST CONTACT

The ride loop (Bukit Timah MTB Trail) was long enough for the participants to experience the various strengths of the Square One. We summarize our first contact with the Square One with the following:

  • It is a 180mm long travel Enduro bike that climbs EXCEPTIONALLY well!
  • It is quick yet confident-inspiring machine
  • You can call it a breakthrough in Polygon's bike design
  • We like the way the demo weekend was conducted and would hope for more of such demo weekends.

At press time, you would not be able to find the bike on display at any Rodalink outlet yet – the demo bikes are making their rounds across the regions.

We will do a full review on this beast shortly. Meantime, do check with Rodalink on when you can see the bike in the flesh and how you can get your hands on one. You will be impressed too.
