ONE MORE TITLE SPONSOR FOR PROLOGUE

BRAND’S® as a new category title sponsor of the Prologue event which will be held on 11 April.

BRAND’S® joins Japanese probiotic dairy brand Yakult and Boost Juice Bars™ of Australia as category title sponsors for Cycle Asia Singapore 2015, the seventh instalment of the popular multi award-winning mass cycling event, to give a distinctly healthy feel to the event this year.

The BRAND’S® Prologue is a brand new category which will be introduced for the first time during this year’s Cycle Asia Singapore 2015 event to be held from 10-12 April at the F1 Pit Building. Some 500 amateur cyclists are expected to test themselves on the same competition course which the professional riders competed on in previous editions – complete with starting ramp – for the first time in the event’s history.

“The Prologue is a new category which we are introducing this year to make this year’s event more interesting and we are delighted to welcome on board a household name like BRAND’S® as a new sponsor,” said Chris Robb, Chief Executive Officer, Spectrum Worldwide.

“BRAND’S® has long been associated with healthy living so it makes for a perfect fit for them to be part of the rebranded Cycle Asia Singapore, which is going back to its origins to promote cycling for the masses as a healthy lifestyle.”

THE PROLOGUE

For the uninitiated, a prologue is a short individual time trial which is a reference to the opening stage of professional stage events to mark the start a race weekend.

Australian pro-rider Jonathan Cantwell of UCI Professional ContinentalTeam Drapac Professional Cycling who will be in town for Cycle Asia Singapore, will lay down the time marker for all riders to test themselves against in the BRAND’S® Prologue event, which will be held on the morning of Saturday, 11 April at the F1 Pit Building to officially kick off the event.

Cycle Asia ambassador and former pro-rider Robbie McEwen, who was arguably the fastest sprinter in the world at his peak, will attempt to beat the best time set as the last rider in the field to add an element of excitement for the event, which is open to all cyclists over the age of 14. To further add to the spectacle, there will be a ‘live’ results leader-board showing the pace setters on the 2.2km course.

The participants in the BRAND’S® Prologue will each receive a special jersey courtesy of BRAND’S® worth SGD$80.00. Participants who register for the BRAND’S® Prologue together with another category will also enjoy attractive bundle savings (see factsheet for details). While Cycle Asia Singapore 2015 has been touted as a mass ride, there will still be attractive prizes on offer thanks to the event’s various sponsors this year. The most coveted prize is arguably a cycling trip to an Asian destination worth SGD$3,500 each for the top male and female riders in the BRAND’S® Prologue, as well as a special Yellow Jersey for both winners.

YAKULT ACE LIGHT SUPER CHALLENGE, BOOST CHALLENGE AND COMMUNITY RIDE

Besides the BRAND’S® Prologue, cycling enthusiasts can also sign up for the 59km Yakult Ace Light Super Challenge, the 37km Boost Challenge or the 23km Community Ride. There is also a 5km Kids Ride for children aged 6-11 and Tricycle Rides for toddlers from 2 years of age, making it an event that truly caters to riders of all age groups.
